Education copy: Welcome
Who are we helping?

Our primary target group are German Enactus projects that want to create an impact in Uganda with their start-ups. Simultaneously, future cooperation with international Enactus projects having the same goal is an additional possibility for us. Additionally, in the long run, we would like to expand our venture to start-ups outside of the Enactus community and give entrepreneurs in and outside our network the opportunity to use our platform.

Apart from the above, however, a secondary - non-hierarchically - target group for us are the people in Uganda, as they are the ones who benefit directly from our projects. The more efficient the work of our projects gets through our help, the more jobs are created for these people, the more education is provided to them and ultimately the larger our footprint is.

Locations and numbers of people in need

Of our core target group, which includes Enactus projects located in Uganda, 80 people are currently living in Germany and have successfully been connected with each other through UP!

Additionally, our 2nd  target group in Uganda includes, by project:

Afya

Uganda has a population of approximately 44.7 million, 36% of which are children and of that 33% are malnourished. Therefore, our core target group for our social product is about 5071000 children. Since we haven't gotten into the market yet, this is a difficult question to answer. But because of us and our concern, UNBS is currently developing new standards for the algae. Therefore, our influence makes it possible for other companies and projects that want to fight malnutrition with algae to be certified and as a result create an impact with our help.

EduGlobe

EduGlobe's education program tackles the root of several problems of youth unemployment in Eastern Africa. Our goal is to provide students between the ages of 12 and 18 with the skills to financially support themselves and their families through entrepreneurship. This makes Uganda's young population part of our core target group, and since Uganda has the youngest population in the world (77% of the population is under 25), the numbers are quite high. But more specifically, our education program is currently in Masaka district, where 58% of the population is under 18.

In the 4 years since we launched the project, we have already taught entrepreneurial basics and practical skills to about 2000 students in Uganda. At the moment, we are partnering with 4 different schools where a total of 781 students are being taught our curriculum.

Enevra

Every year, over a million people lose limbs due to accidents, diseases, or war. 80% of these people live in developing countries and do not have access to affordable prosthetics. As estimated by WHO, around 30 million people need a prosthesis or orthosis. Therefore, these people are our target group when it comes to offering them our help.

Since the launch of our project, we have managed to help 10 people by offering them our prosthetics.

Kukua

The project is currently in the construction and reinvention phase. Therefore, unfortunately, we do not have data and information on these numbers. However, the project is advised by us and embedded in our network.

Natural Woman

Unfortunately, we do not have detailed data on this project (yet). You can find out more about the project at http://natural-woman.org.

Njagala

Women in rural regions of Uganda are usually excluded from the labor market and often do not receive any training. They are the main target group of Njagala, meaning about 10 million people.

At the moment 3 women and 1 man are working with us, so they earn a regular high salary through our project.

Seedloans

98% of farmers in Uganda cannot afford to buy enough seeds to plant on the available land because their income is low and prices fluctuate widely. As there are 1 million smallholder farmers in SSA and we only work with women (about 50%), our target group is half a million female smallholder farmers.

So far, we have worked with 200 women, next season in fall 2021 we want to work with 300 women, and next year with 2500 women in 2 seasons.
